Erm... where did summer go?

I'm not ready for Autumn!

Loads has been going on in our house hold/family so I will try to edit it to a few brief paragraphs.

1. My mum and dad have put their house up for sale and have fallen in love with a house in Norfolk. Mixed emotions on this one, my mum and dad have always been within a 5 minute drive from me and the thought of not just being able to nip in is making me feel rather sad and anxious. Not to mention how much Ella totally dotes on them and will miss them immensely. But on the plus side which is how I normally look at life, they will be moving to Cromer, a place we all love and one where we can go to the seaside any time of the year plus when I do see them it will be quality time that I spend with them. Most importantly of all is how important this is for my mum and dad... it's been a dream for a very long time.

2. The business is going to go into overdrive... We have been selected by Not on the high street to be featured in the Christmas magazine; a whole page. As you can imagine the amount of work has doubled and that is even before the catalogue goes out. I am currently surrounded in every room by stock and this brings me to number 3.

3. Why oh why oh why did I start... I have decided that it was about time that the business come craft room was organised and suitable for my needs. This has now equated to having to move everything out so we can decorate. The list is endless and I have to have it all done by the end of September. Not an easy job. We have stripped all the nasty wallpaper and fixed the sash windows. Now we need to paint everything, the bit I am truly excited about is painting the floor boards white, yes I am rather sad but they are the original Victorian ones so I'm really excited. The whole room will be white :) I can't wait. I have every area planned out in detail so lots of pictures will be coming soon of how we got on.

As you can tell this is why my blogging is still very pathetic to say the least. On a good note I did have a break for a day to do some creative stuff for my mums birthday. I always love to make her some sort of handmade personal gift and these two were just perfect.

I didn't really know where it was going but just went with the flow and I was really pleased with the end results. It was a great success... she cried with happiness:)

Heart filled with lavender from our garden.

I have been intending to write a post for ages but have a to do list that is verging on ridiculous. so I threw caution to the wind and decided instead of editing the photographs for some of my Christmas stock I would do some blogging... I miss it sooo much.

I am currently surrounded by Christmas stock, our Christmas collection this year is about three times the size of normal so as you can imagine it is very mad here.

I hope you are all well, please accept my sincere apologies for the lack of comments on your blog posts, I do keep having a quick peek but will try harder to leave a message.

Hugs,

xFaye

I can understand you feeling a bit mixed up about your mum and dad moving - it will be hard on everyone in the family, but lets face it - Newark or Cromer - I know which I would choose, and you will be able to spend real quality time with each other. Also, speaking from experience, I used to have just as close a bond with my mam - we used to have a set time to phone and would always devote that time to each other and natter for a good couple of hours as well as "just because" conversations. It's different but OK xx
Congrats on the NOTHS /xmas stuff - I am snowed under and scrabbling round trying to get the money to pay for craft fairs - roll on 2009!
Take care xxx

Oh I do love the little pillow with boats; it would go so perfectly with a little blanket I just made for my grandson! I might just take inspiration from yours to try and make a similar one for him -- if you don't mind, that is?

My Mum & Dad are thinking of moving too up to North Yorkshire. I am thinking rather selfishly about the move but it is something they want to do, and what with us thinking of moving up to Scotland who am I to put up an objection!

Well done on the NOTHS magazine!

I like the fact that I am not the only one trying to complete a work space by the end of the month, but I think I have a better chance of losing 10 stone!

Good luck

Have been there too, only it was the other way around for me at first. I met and married a guy from Kent and went to live down there with him for 3 yrs. Mum and I spoke LOADS on the phone and I even took up letter writing again - proper old fashioned pen and paper (in the days before we both had laptops, I confess!) and doing a proper catch up. Then, they'd come and stay for proper weekends and we did nice things and went off exploring.

Now, though, we all live within a 10 minute drive of each other on the Herefordshire/Gloucestershire border and I have got used to the popping in/out too.

I know how you feel, my Mum moved to Cornwall 20 years ago when I was 27 and just before my first child was born (her first Grandchild). I had mixed feelings, it was dream for her to live in such a beautiful part of the country but 300 miles away, too far for me! We've had many happy holidays over the years, the kids loved having a Nanny who lived by the sea. Now that I work full-time and the children are grown up we see less of her sadly but it's her choice and I have to respect that. I did miss the popping in and out though and was always very envious of friends who had Mum on the doorstep. Norfolk is one of my favourite places, think of all those holidays you'll have (and cheap too!)

Hi, new to blogland. I know what you mean ... I moved 2 hours away from my daughter and we still see each other regularly. I have 2 grandbabies now. When they come here they stay overnight ... its just lovely. We have dinner with them and wake up to them. When living a half hour within each other we had quick visits. My dream also was to live at the seaside. Enjoy every moment ...
